How to Plan Your Practice Using HockeyShare’s Practice Planner

HockeyShareA while back, I did a post showing how to use HockeyShare’s drill diagrammer to set up your drills. As I mentioned in that video, one of the things I like best about HockeyShare’s drill diagrammer is that it’s web-based, and cross platform. Which means you can access your drill library from any computer, whether it’s a Mac or a PC!

In the video above, I show you how to plan your practice using the planning mode. In my opinion, this is where HockeyShare really shines! As your planning your practice, you can check out any drill by hovering over the drill title with your cursor. To add a drill, simply click the name of the drill, and it will be added to your practice.

Now here’s the REALLY cool part:
Obviously, you’ll have access to whatever drills you’ve added to the system. But on top of that, you’ll also have access to all of the public drills, as well as all of your team & association drills! And if that weren’t enough, you also have the ability to share entire practice plans among your team or organization!

Here are some of the links mentioned in the video:

Hockey Drill Diagramming Software for Mac!

Finally… A High-Quality Hockey Drill Diagramming Software for Mac Users!

I’m sure you know by now, I’m a BIG DrillDraw fanboy. I’ve been using it for years now, and I really like it. The one drawback to DrillDraw is that it is only available for Windows, which interferes with the fact that I’m also an Apple fanboy, who does most of his work on a Mac.

Over the past few years I’ve had a lot of folks ask if I knew of a decent drill diagramming alternative for Mac users, and up until now I haven’t had a good answer… but those days are over now!

My good friend, Kevin Muller from HockeyShare has just released a CROSS-PLATFORM, drill diagramming software that you can use with any operating system. In fact, the software is web-based, which means you can access your drills, and use the software from ANY computer too!

On top of that, he’s integrated the software into his existing database of hockey drills, so you can share YOUR drills, access OTHER coaches’ shared drills, and even import shared drills from other coaches straight into your own practice plan. The concept is incredible!

Off Ice Conditioning Program

Off Ice Conditioning Program

From time-to-time I am offered to participate in different hockey specific programs because of all the hits this site takes each day. A coach I have known for about a year now is starting up what I think might be an interesting web based conditioning program for hockey players. Take a look at his website by clicking the image below and see if you are interested. This may be something you want to pass along to your players for the off-season.

Here is a short link you can give to your players if you think they might be interested

Between today and March 15th there will be different videos on the site to give you an idea of what’s to come. On the 15th there will be a video describing the program and how to join.

Jeremy Weiss the developer of the S3 program is an excellent coach out west and a former high level hockey player. He has a college education in athletic conditioning and nutrition and is someone I respect for his knowledge of the game and how to improve your ability. Check out the videos and move forward if you find it to be of interest to you or your players.
